PSG's decision with Icardi over Wanda Nara situation
Talk of Mauro Icardi's situation with his wife, Wanda Nara, has dominated headlines in the last few days, and Paris Saint-Germain are aware of what is going on with the Argentine striker.
Icardi was given a leave of absence from PSG's training sessions on Sunday and Monday, as he travelled to Milan to try and reconcile with Wanda Nara, who had taken the decision to leave Paris with her five children.
PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino decided to include Icardi in the squad for Tuesday night's Champions League group-stage match against RB Leipzig, but in the end the 28-year-old informed his coach that he was not in the right frame of mind to play.
The decision was taken by Icardi after a lengthy discussion with PSG's leaders and the coaching staff, say Le Parisien. PSG are keeping a close eye on what is happening with Icardi and are looking to support him in whatever way they can.
With that said, it has not been ruled out completely that Icardi could receive a fine due to not taking part in training and the match against Leipzig.
PSG paid Inter 58 million euros to sign Icardi in the summer of 2020, and he has a contract at the club until June 2024. It remains unclear if he will be available for Le Classique away at Marseille on Sunday night.
The latest reports suggest that Icardi and Wanda Nara have come to a mutual agreement to remain together, however there have not yet been any comments made by his wife and there is speculation in Argentina that the situation has not yet been resolved.
