Mike Tyson statue ridiculed, just like Cristiano Ronaldo's
A statue of Mike Tyson unveiled in Las Vegas has been widely ridiculed for bearing little resemblance to the boxer. The statue was recently erected in Resorts World in Las Vegas as a tribute to Tyson's brilliant boxing career.
Although the statue featured his famous face tattoo, sculptor Riche Palmer has been widely criticised on social media for not getting much else right.
"Love Mike [Tyson], but that statue looks nothing like him, lol," wrote one Twitter user.
Some fans went as far as comparing it to the statue of Cristiano Ronaldo at Madeira airport, which was erected in 2017 and was also the subject of widespread ridicule.
However, the youngest world heavyweight champion in history stated that he was extremely grateful to Palmer.
"I knew Richie [Palmer] ever since my teenage years in New York City and we have always been close and I'm a little overwhelmed and pretty humbled right now," said Tyson.
