Crunching tackle knocks out Patrick Mahomes to end worst defeat of his career
The Kansas City Chiefs' disappointing 2021 season continued on Sunday as they lost 27-3 to the Tennessee Titans, but perhaps more worrying is the injury suffered by quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
During the fourth quarter of the match, Mahomes was sacked for the fourth time and ended up having Jeffery Simmons' knee catch him in the head.
Mahomes then needed to be helped off the field and went into the medical tent on the Chiefs' sideline. Lucky for Kansas City fans, the 26-year-old emerged from the tent and was able to speak with coach Andy Reid, but Chad Henne saw out the remainder of the match.
Mahomes, viewed as the darling of the NFL in the last couple of campaigns, has now thrown nine interceptions this season and has come under the spotlight, with the Chiefs now having a record of 3-4.
