Brazilian scout: Vinicius is a Barcelona fan, he cried at the 6-1 PSG comeback!
Vinicius was one of the stars of Sunday's Clasico at the Camp Nou, performing brilliantly in the first half and frustrating the Barcelona fans so much that some even directed insults and middle fingers in his direction. Yet, things could have been very different had Vinicius signed for Barcelona.
Barcelona's former scout for Brazil Andre Cury has revealed that the wide forward was close to moving to Catalonia and that he used to be a fan of the Blaugrana.
"Vinicius is a Cule, like really Cule," Cury revealed on Cadena Ser's 'Que T'hi Jugues' show.
"He cried when Barcelona completed their comeback over PSG, when they won 6-1.
"He was ready to sign for Barcelona too. His two agents were close friends of mine.
"But, at the last minute, they betrayed me and the club. Since 2017, we no longer speak."
Cury and the Neymar transfer to Barcelona
Cury did manage to finalise Barcelona's signing of Neymar back in 2013 and he revealed how difficult this was, given the strong interest from Real Madrid.
"It was very difficult to get Neymar's signing over the line," Cury stated.
"Neymar came because he loved this club. In normal circumstances, he wouldn't have come.
"Real Madrid even offered him 100 million euros more."
Although Neymar did move to the Camp Nou in 2013, he later left to join Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 when the French club paid his release clause.
