Aguero's curse against Real Madrid
Sergio Aguero could play his first Clasico this weekend as Barcelona host Real Madrid at the Camp Nou on Sunday. The Argentina International has overcome his injury and he'll form part of a Blaugrana squad for the third time, though Ronald Koeman does still want to be cautious with his use of the forward.
So far, the coach has dosed Aguero's minutes, not giving him too much time on the pitch against Valencia or Dynamo Kiev.
No wins in 14 games against Real Madrid
Aguero failed to beat Real Madrid with both Atletico Madrid and Manchester City. He has faced Real Madrid as many as 14 times throughout his career, but is yet to claim a single win. Of those, he has drawn five times and lost on nine occasions.
With Los Rojiblancos, Aguero played against Real Madrid 11 times. Three of those were draws and the rest defeats. Things were more even with City, losing one and drawing two.
He has scored just four goals against Los Blancos in his 14 appearances. But, Koeman is confident that Aguero will become an important player for Barcelona in the post-Lionel Messi era. They've lost a lot of cutting edge in attack and Aguero can offer something that they don't have, even if he's not the player he was when he was 27.
Barcelona's fans expect a lot from the player and they've already shown their affection for him by chanting his name at the Camp Nou.
Now, it's over to him to repay that faith and deliver when he's fit enough to get a proper chance in the team. He could do worse than to start with a first goal against Real Madrid in five years.
